The Forest through the Trees

The Forest through the Trees

A Poem by Phoenix Project Productions
"

Short Poem about My life perspective

"

Standing back and taking it all in. No longer focusing on the one thing, the little thing.

I concern myself less with the spiritual and more with the terrestrial. It wasn't always this way.

Far too long a time spent in mourning of a life I couldn't have, that would never be mine again.

Far too long a time spent missing someone lost.

But you can't see the forest through the trees.

I learned to step away, to re-orient my focus and find beauty in the grand design. Redemption comes

to those not stymied by narrow vision.

I feel a weight lifting. I feel it, decreasing gradually as time removes me from one dark point and brings me

to one of light.

The trees fade and a new vision emerges. The forest becomes my focus, the miniscule flaws lost

To a broader magnificience.

This puts into words where I am in my life ( finally) as well. I totally related to all of it.

As far as criticism...

...the forest has become my focus.
And it is magnificent.

I feel this would be a stronger ending. Changing the tense to the here and now...it sounds better to my ear. What do you think?
