MORNING GLOOMA Poem by Peter RogersonWritten in the morning with wet weather outside...Thick and grey, it is, This sky above my head, Heavy metal, dark, in tons Like brooding lead.
The sun fights, it does, And loses the fight, The leaden day remains Like Stygian night.
Moisture falls, it does, Driving and slow And puddles wink with lights That wetly glow.
I’m indoors, I am, Away from all that gloom, Watching my lover sigh Across the room. © 2016 Peter RogersonReviews
