THE CHILDREN AND THE FLOWERSA Poem by Peter RogersonTragedy in autumn
The flowers bloomed in summer in the field down Janie's way, their petals fell in autumn and her kids went out to play...
the skies were bleak and looming, and carelessly they roamed here and there and everywhere ever further from their home.
And the flowers bloomed in summer but by winter they were dead and Janie by her window was filled with painful dread...
then springtime came, and blooming, and the flowers lived again But Janie's precious infants were lost in autumn's rain... © 2016 Peter Rogerson |
