DownpourA Poem by pheasant
Arizona skies twinkle the eyes
As fast-drifting clouds speak out loud A storm rustles in the distance Neutralizing all resistance A blackbird buzzes through Catching currents like glue Curling under thickets As sparked thunder quick it A sidewinder slithers Burrowing beneath sand As a coyote dithers Scrambling up the land A roadrunner jumps Into high gear As the roaring thumps Sounding so near The downpour releases The enlivening liquids As the drenching increases All dryness then ceases ![]() © 2011 pheasantFeatured Review
