Staring at people in the room

Deep in your canine thoughts.

But even though you didn’t speak English

I understood you

WE understood you.

We understood you was nearing your end.

We understood that your body was failing.

But there you was…hopping like a puppy.

As if you didn’t age from the day you was born,

And when you left us…it was a shock.

A blow.

So confused…so angry.

The death weighed heavy on me.

A ten ton hammer replaced my heart.

Beating solely for you to come back.

But we’ll meet again brother.

We love you

We always will.
