Bright Eyes

This type of poem is called a jorio- 4 lines, four words each. The best description i've heard for it is "poetic cubism." They're fun, but kind of a challenge, a lot like haikus.

The pallid winter light

looked melancholy over you,

but somehow your eyes

made up the difference.

There is riddle in this poem ... it almost seems as if the first and the last two lines were disconnencted ... and yet, mysteriously, ungraspably, they are ... quite wonderful. xxx
