Projected Against Empty

Projected Against Empty

A Poem by Megan Harris

You are the banner of my existance
Hung about my heart
Swaying with the sound of breath
I remember and
Smell your phantom scent
and still I picture:
An infinite emptiness.
BUT I am not alone here
There are shadows
I am one
I whisper out to no response,
"Can you hear me?"
"Are you there?"
I am stuck here
Before you walked away
You brought the light
What you gave -
You take away
I miss the color of violet
That I saw when I closed my eyes
There was some peace in knowing you
It gave me a color other than dark
And drew me in dimensions
It was love and lie in degrees.
