love and heartbreak

this is a poem about someone loosing a loved one.

 

 

You promised you would never leave me,

You would stay by my side forever.

Now on this rainy moonlit night,

I watch you packing the car.

You place a gental kiss on my cheek,

You say you will never forget.

You say you will some day come back,

But i know that is just a lie.

Now standing on the steps in the rain and cold,

I cry wishing you would come back.

But you don't you just cary on,

You drive into the distense.

I drag myself into the house,

And close the door behind me.

I fall to the ground crying,

Blinded by love and heartbreak.

A very sad poem. Few people return after they escape. Most times the person left behind. Close the door forever because of pain and sadness. No weakness in this poem. A strong ending to a excellent poem.
