Its been a long year

Filled with heart break

And sorrowful tears

Made from the ache

 

A year filled with despair

Cause I lost you

Schizophrenic nightmare

Came f*****g true

 

Its been a hard year

Cursed with yearning

Wishing you were here,

Never returning

 

The year that broke my heart

The year you died

Left me cracked into parts

Ruptured inside

 

Its been a bleak year

Plagued by regret

A year diseased with wrongs

Guarding your name

Trying to stand strong

hiding the shame

 

Its been a harsh year

At times so surreal

its coming p on the 1 yr mark of my dads suicide... there will be more about him in the next wk... i cant believe its been a yr... omg... sometimes it still doesnt seem real... i miss him... but i know he is still with me... ok i am about to cry so....

Sad poem. I think what I would like to see from your poem is perhaps try to understand why or perhaps what is was that drove your father to do what he did. Its just an idea, but your peoms are always full of emotion and doing that will make you understand your father better while helping you ease in your acceptance.

This is a really great way to remember your dad. It's good that you know he's still with you. He's never really left you. Maybe physically, but his spirit lives on inside of your heart forever. I hope that the pain will eventually ease up a little bit for you.
