Earrings

Earrings

A Poem by Piper Valentine
"

Another poem centerred around the mundane posessions of someone I used to love.

"
Now that I have finally cleansed you
From every corner of my life,
I have found it in myself to clean everything else.

And as I cleared the desk today, I found two or three of your favorite earrings,
Ones that you had lost track of
When I still loved you.
There was even a pair.

I hate the part of me
That you put there,
The part of me that grins
At the prospect of your misfortunes.
I know you’re missing them.
I know you’re missing me.

One day I will find your s**t
On my desk
Or under my bed
And just be sad for you that you are missing it.
