Four & Twenty

Four & Twenty

A Poem by Scott H.
"

A little poem inspired by my most favourite day of the year

"

"Four & Twenty"

There's four & twenty blackbirds

Baked inside a pie,

Those squawkers aren't nearly baked

As either she or I

We're going to the marketplace

With four & twenty lambs

We're traveling down the changing way

And walking hand-in-hand

We've been walking down this path

For four & twenty miles

Each new person that we greet

Are met with herb and smiles

For four & twenty merry hours

We'll smoke and spred our cheer

For we won't be coming back this way

For the turning of a year
