The End of the Driveway (Cat in a Bag)

The End of the Driveway (Cat in a Bag)

A Poem by Scott H.
"

This is based on a real-life event from years and years and years in my past. The exact details are fuzzy, but the emotion remains the same.

"

"The End of the Driveway (Cat in a Bag)"

At the end of the driveway

Innocence died

Along with

A cat in a bag

Whom someone had savaged

Then dropped there

Barely alive

Mewing meekly at me

In pain, betrayal

Being just a child

I could only stand there

As the officer shot it

Took the dead cat in a bag

And drove off

Leaving me crying

At the end of the driveway

Great piece.
It's a horrible thing to admit that many atrocities such as the one you describe happen ever day.
I like the simplicity of it, and the first two lines are just....awsome.

That is so sad and cold. Poor thing. Good write though. Evokes feelings and that is rare in many people's writing. :(
