Lost In The Desert

Lost out in the desert heat
Is the tall tattooed man
That I long for, greatly seek

Out in the warm baking sun
Is the beautifully pierced man
That i need, heart achingly numb

Far away under the desert sky
Is the handsome dark haired man
That I yearn for, soul softly cries

A different world with bright stars
Is the excitingly adventurous man
That I seek, leaving memories with scars

Beautiful imagery. Gives it a wondrous exotic feel to the poem. Very romantic and alluring. One of your i's isn't capitalized though, 2nd stanza, third line. I really do love the imagery of the man though.

I think we can all relate to the aching that you have described here in this piece...love is there, but far away, lost...and all you have to show are the scars, and your poetry of course! I like the descriptions, I could see the desert and the man...I'm wondering, though, if the set-up might be a little better if you didn't have a tag about the man in each stanza, rather all in one stanza...I mean, describe him and then describe your yearing while weaving in the desert imagery. I don't know...just a thought. I really like the last stanza--"A different world with bright stars"
