Whispers in the Night

Whispers in the Night

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

You sneak in whispering to me
In the shadows of darkness, of night
Whispers of things that use to be
Images and emotions do take flight

You creep in the darkest recesses of the night
Silently steeling away my center, my calm
Making it hard to breath, and my chest feel tight
I can feel your glowing warmth on my hand palm.

Then it happens suddenly and all too quick
the light shining in is warm and blinding
I realize it was all a cruel dream just a trick
Your heart and my heart now and forever binding

As the light startles me, shocking me awake
I try to collect and gather all my thoughts
And once again I feel the heart wrenching ache
Now my heart has been forever sold and bought.

Poem is very good. Last line is outstanding. (Now my heart has been forever sold and bought). Description and story was strong. You held my attention to the last word. A excellent poem.

This sounds a lot like those voices we hear when it is dead silent that play tricks on our minds and try to fill us full of doubt... very dark but so well versed... gave me a chill up my spine.
