Evaporated Darkness

from crystallized heart to evaporated darkness

A Heart crystallized in ice

Frozen in a stalagmite cage

Filled with emptiness and rage

 

Blood solid turning to stone

Reinforced with diamond dust

Without a single drop of trust

 

No warmth to fill those bones

Heat evaporated in darkness

Body simply a moving carcass

 

A sepulture for emotions

Barren with only silence

Consumed with violence

 

Until a streak of light shined

Breaking through the ominous cloud

And freedom began singing aloud

 

Releasing hints of a red hue

As blood began pulse and flow

Once again the heart had a pink glow

 

Sparkling dust lay on the ground

Making the mossy grass dance

Without a backwards glance

 

The warmth encasing the soul

As heated sun rays shined bright

The future now seemed warmly right

I think this poem is beautiful to start with and I love the font for presentation. I know of this darkness that consumes and hides our individual light from the world as we suffer within waiting for that light that opens us back up toward another. Your words are beautiful and they seem to dance off the page on their own with love, hope and a future that is much brighter than yesterday's haze. It is good to see your Muse writing like this and I am thankful to have been a part of it for this poem is touching. :)
