Burning Question

Do you believe there is a God?
and if you do pray tell me why.
Myself I find it rather odd.
I do believe I would reply.

I do believe I have no doubt
Though I cannot prove it’s so.
Despite the stories told about
God. Nobody seems to really know.

If God created man or he
created God so he would be
a whipping boy who we could blame
or pour out blessings on his name.

When everything goes right for us.
Does God exist omnipotent?
And do we make him furious
because we’re always discontent.

And if you do can you explain
why God created bad and good
and why must we experience pain.
You cannot I didn’t think you could.

Very thought provoking poem. I believe there is a God through pure faith. God creates bad and good experiences so that our souls are able to become hungry. If everything was always good, there wouldn't be enough widespread appreciation thus leading to self centeredness, sin. It goes on and on. This poem has a sharp subject. A poem that entices the reader to dig deeper within our own mind and search for answers. I thoroughly enjoy a challenging poem such as this.

I do love theosophical questions. I see the JudeoChristian mythologies as metaphors, so my beliefs are different from those which you describe, but I do believe in God. I understand why many don't, however. Another fine work. Questions are wonderful tools for provoking thought... You used them well. Really nice.

I really like the challenge in this peice- it is a wonderful expression of doubt, especially since this is something that everyone deals with- doubt in Divinity. Life is difficult and wonderful all at the same time and though I have had my times of disbelief I must say that regardless of the form or tradition or denomination a spiritual ideal and belief seems to be important. However, doubting is perfectly normal and a wonderful method to find strength and such a wonderful expression. This is really well written and I enjoyed the flow and as you can tell it made me think. Wonderful write.
