Karma

To sleep, perchance to dream and wake no more
I know I have to stay but long to go
and leave behind me all my cares and woe
Back to where I have often been before.
A place of rest in which I can restore
my weary spirit easily I know.
In soft green meadows where the waters flow
and work out what the future holds in store.

I must return I’ve lesson yet to learn
I am sure that death is not the end
but just another step along the way
Towards perfection for which I yearn.
Each wrongful action which I can’t defend
I know that I must suffer in my turn.

To sleep.... almost as to leave.
Longing to go, but must stay.

Back to where I have often been before....

Hey - great piece here - was just browsing around and was lucky enough to find it. Excellent rhyme and content that give a balanced shape of what karma means overall, and what it means to you.

A wonderful poem. I love the concept of Karma. You just can't get away with anything, cuz it will all come back to you whether in this life or the next. But the good news is that all the good things you do will come back to you too.

Hello there, not having studied poetry I'm not sure of dimensions in this style, I can however tell you that I enjoyed it very much. The flow is excellent as is the content, best of all there is no obscurity (thank God) your message is as clear as crystal and just as breathtakingly beautiful...thank you.
Cheers,
Helen :-)))
