sonnet in Iambic pentameter

"

Contentment.

How do you measure happiness?
Is it a question of degree?
A measurement of more or less
discontent to ecstasy.
Is it enough to be content?
I think for most that must be true.
Although sometimes by accident
you are allowed a different view.
One moment of pure ecstasy.
You know you are connected to
Everything: An epiphany
which makes you change your world view.
I think perhaps to be content
 for me is quite sufficient.

The word "hap" from which happiness means one's luck or lot.... The pursuit of "happiness" is of course futile and one gets hap now and then, just as they experience the full gammut of emotions derived from our biological chemicals in response to external, environmental, atmospheric and psychological stimuli.... Epiphanies border on the manic depression zones don't you think? I agree, to be content is sufficient. But that hap will get you!

Amazing rhyme! You do iambic pentameter really well, and it doesn't sound clumsy or out of beat.
The last two lines were a little off, but the rest was perfection.
And it had a great message. You didn't have a lot of space, but you portrayed a great deal.
Awesome.

My most favorite poems are ones that make me think. This one did that for me.

To have the time to search oneself is sweet enough to savor eh?
