No flowers by request

Place no flowers on my grave
to placate my restless ghost.
Remember more the ones I gave
to you. To show I loved you most.
If you should die before I do
I will not buy you flowers then
but in my heart remember you
I know that we will meet again.
If I go first I won’t go far
I’ll stay nearby waiting for you.
For paradise is where you are.
We are a perfect match we two.
Of course perhaps death will be kind
He’ll take us both leave none behind.

This is absolutely beautiful. I love rhyme, and I love the idea, so I give this a full 10! Keep writing man. Good stuff.

Reminds me of a poem, Always Remembered, that I wrote about the aunt and uncle that raised my dad after his mom died during childbirth and his father, my grandfather, took off into a bottle to drink away his pain. The aunt and uncle were married 75 years or more when the uncle died suddenly. The aunt followed a year later. After that long together in harmony, I understand your last lines: "Of course perhaps death will be kind...He'll take us both leave none behind." What happened to my mother after my father died is more evidence that after being together that long and loving each other that it is best to go together or as close to each other as possible. My mom and dad were married for more than fifty years and after he was gone, my mother lingered in mental grief for almost a decade. Yes, under those circumstances, together is better.

ahhhh, leave no flowers on my grave because I am not there. Weep no tears over the cold ground because my spirit is freed. I will visit those I love the best.

This is a grand little work.
