Open House For Friend Donald MeikleA Poem by PoeticpiersA poemCupped in the hills the village lies. A veritable paradise far from the city's noisiness. A place of peace and quietness. It's not an easy place to find and harder still to leave behind. Although well off he beaten track once you have been you will come back. Its is a small community some houses and a hostelry Which in the evening quickly fills with folks from the surrounding hills. They're not averse to strangers here their friendliness is quite sincere. Although you're not a regular you will be served as if you are. Mine host does not discriminate and is prepared to tolerate. No prejudice of any sort and will eject without a thought. Any one who chooses to express a prejudicial view. Against somebody's race or creed Because to him there is no need. All men are men and nothing more and here the landlord's word is law. All breeds and creeds are welcome here to sample mine hosts home brewed beer. To drink and chat, play dominoes Sit by the open fire and doze. A peaceful rural sanctuary The kind of place a pub should be.29-Dec-08 http:// blog.myspace.com/poeticpiers © 2009 Poeticpiers |
