Received wisdom

There's beauty in machinery
for those who have the eyes to see.
Perfected by the artisan
from dreams into reality.
Some simple thing, perhaps a tool
precisely made and purposeful.
Although not seen as general rule
as being something beautiful.
When observed by a poets eye.
Captures the interest of his muse.
Poets then transmogrify
some common object which they choose
and show you through a poets eyes
Beauty which takes you by surprise.
