One day, with luck

 

 A writer must be versatile

If he hopes to achieve success

Well able to alter his style,

 his thoughts and ideas to express.

Variety adds spice to life

 and no less to the written word

From tales of love to war and strife

and now and then something absurd.

To keep your readers on their toes.

They must not know what to expect

You pen your poetry or prose.

 To suit yourself though I suspect

 You’d like to see your work published

I know that’s what I’ve always wished.
