Wait and pray

Sonnet in iambic tetrameter

 

Wait and Pray

 

I’m certain that the world of dreams

is better than reality

A place of flowing crystal streams

 perfect in its tranquillity.

There are no  wars or terrorists.

No men who kill in their Gods name

Unlike this world where hate prevails

 and killing’s treated as a game.

Perhaps one day the worlds will merge

 into one integrated whole.

The race of man will lose the urge

 to dominate and take control.

Until the coming of that day

 What can we do but wait and pray.
