A trifall

 

When you abandoned me.

Left bereft

I tried my best to understand.

 But I failed utterly.

 I was left dismissed completely out of hand.

 

You left without a word.

 Silently.

I would have gladly heard

 Quietly.

 Why I must lose so you could gain.

 

The freedom you desired

Selfishly

My love was not enough it seems

 not quite what you required.

You left me

 to weep. While you pursued your dreams.
