Yellow WelliesA Poem by Poeticpierssilly sonnet
Yellow Wellies
He’s only two or three, no more.
Splashing in puddles happily.
I daren’t do it any more.
So I watch him enviously.
I am grown up and I must be
always on my best behaviour.
Conscious of my dignity.
As I watch this little shaver.
In his yellow wellies dancing,
raising smiles from passers by
They cannot avoid his splashing.
I’m convinced that they like I.
Wish that they were young again.
Happily dancing in the rain.
