Simplistic Style for friend Tate

Simplistic Style

Winter is waiting in the wings
Until his turn to take the stage.
Amused at autumns posturings
He will create a pristine page

On which to paint in black and white
An austere winter beauty show.
 Pictures dependent on the light
reflecting from the fallen snow.

He has a limited palette
Displaying his flawless technique.
Paints pictures you will not forget
 because each picture is unique.

The gaudy autumn colours go
Replaced by winters coat of snow.

Love this one for a dear friend Tate.. all the words rang so true in such fierce rhtyme and rhyme.. though I do not find Tate has a limited palette.. only line I feel differently too.. cause Tate writes alot that is true and touches my heart. You show so much talent and are there to guide so many writers.. placing them on pedestals in writings that can not be ignored.. a penchant for observances and much great advise. Keep up the great work.. written for a soft and talented soul.. much like the one I know you tend to hide a little! Bravo!

You've done a good job all 'round. It doesn't seem to scan properly throughout but I can forgive minor problems in favor of your strong but unforced rhymes. I think the imagery was good and the choice of words superb. "autumns posturings" and a "pristine page" seem to be strong visually and aurally. This poem would be good read aloud.

A nice little vignette, very visual. The first two quatrains superb, the third throws it a bit. The stresses seem to fall in the wrong places here. But certainly an interesting layout for a sonnet.

I like it! Well written. My only complaint would be with the final quatrain, in which you seem to lose the rhythm.
