Now and Zen for M lady EmmaA Poem by Poeticpiersvariant sonnet in tetrameter
Now and Zen
My navel which I contemplate,
when in the mood to meditate.
Serves as focus for my mind
as vainly I attempt to find
The questions which I need to ask
to find what lies behind the mask
The public face I choose to wear.
I do not think that I could bear
to let the world see the real me
Although I may appear to be.
A mature man who’s in control
I think I’m searching for my soul.
Though I achieve serenity
it’s only temporarily.
