Short Term Gain

 

King Winter now takes up his reign.

Determined to impose his will,

Though it will be a short term gain.

 

His one intent is to regain

what he has lost. Prepared to kill

 King Winter now takes up his reign

 

 He dreams of conquest once again

Assumes he has the power still.

Though it will be a short term gain.

 

His actions make it very plain.

He is the King and he will reign.

King Winter now takes up his reign.

 

He sees no reason to abstain.

Reluctantly we foot the bill .

Though it will be a short term gain.

 

Spring will return and end his reign.

It always has and always will.
