Just for you.

 

I set aside some time to write.

Love poetry meant to delight.

The heart of the recipient,

who knows that every word is meant.

Although I tell you every day.

I strive to find a different way,

to say how much you mean to me.

Though I consult my dictionary.

I make no new discovery,

 so I decide there must not be.

Another phrase which means the same.

As those three words that are my aim.

The little phrase you love to hear

 each time I whisper in your ear.

 

I love you will have to do

I’m sure it will :You know it’s true.

 

It only took a single glance

for you and I to realise.

That fate can grant a second chance.

Although love took us by surprise.

Though I can state with honesty.

I was not looking for a mate.

I seized the opportunity

though fate had left it rather late.

We’ve had five years of happiness.

Some compensation for the past.

Enjoying our togetherness

Quite certain that our love will last.

 

That I love you, you know is true

I think that those three small words will do
