I can only watch and dream.

I can only watch and dream.

A Poem by Poeticpiers

sonnet

"

I can only watch and dream.

A bridge outlined against the sky.

I watch the traffic flowing by.

I wonder why and where they go

Some travel fast and others slow.

Great juggernauts and smaller fry.

All pass before my watchful eye.

Alas my travelling days are done.

A fate that comes to everyone.

Too old to drive but not to write

I can still glory in the sight

Of traffic speeding to and fro

across the bridge a constant flow.

Reviving memories of the past.

When I was young and drove too fast.

Sitting on the riverbank
Pole in hand
Patiently waiting
For that big bite to happen
Skill lost on the young
Who want things yesterday
Even tho they just asked for it.

This is such a great write, simple and says so much...sometimes i do feel that all we are doing is just watching everything around us, and reflecting inside. Very nice.
