What fate decrees will come to be.

There is no way we can prevent

 a single foretold incident.

Although we try to constantly.

What fate decrees.

 

We must accept we can’t break free.

Fate acts inexorably.

That is the one certainty.

What Fate decrees.

 

We have no choice but wait and see.

 We may not know when it will be.

Fate will carry out her intent.

 A long established precedent.

Nothing happens by accident.

We must accept reluctantly.

What Fate decrees.

How true is the words, which flow upon this page. I feel it was fate, which has brought me here.
Great work! I genuinely enjoyed this piece; however, heeding to its wisdom is easier said than done for me, but none the less desired for my sake of sanity. My bother used to always say, "Tommy, you can't change the past, and you cannot do anything to change the future tonight, so go to sleep." lol.

I skimmed so many angst/love poems tonight, I cannot tell you what a relief your work is. Thoughtful and skillful.

Just a thought for the sake of conversation:

The poem seems to summon only those things that we fear we are destiny has in store for us. Don't we also try to rush destiny for what we think is promised to us?
