Nature shows the way.

Nature shows the way.

A Poem by Poeticpiers

narrative verse

"

Nature shows the way.

The late sun paints an orange glow

 upon my west facing window

and floods my room with amber light.

Which stimulates my appetite

for some colour other than white.

Constrained by disability

the only colours that I see

are sterile shades of white and cream.

A bland and neutral colour scheme.

Until the dying sunbeams stream

Into my room as twilight falls

and decorate the bare white walls

in every corner it can reach

With hints and tints of pink and peach.

I batten onto like a leech.

I am almost reduced to tears

when the colours disappear.

As they must eventually.

 Then I am left reluctantly

 to lie and wait impatiently.

I know quite soon the moon will rise

The silver light which she supplies,

will paint my walls in pastel hues

of palest grey and silver blues.

Although I’m not allowed to choose.

When I regain mobility

and they are forced to set me free.

To leave this blandness far behind,

enjoy the colours which I find.

To satisfy my yearning mind..

I think it’s poor psychology

 this overdone sterility.

Bland colour schemes of cream and white.

Should be replaced with something bright.

To take advantage of the light.

Poem is outstanding. Color do mean more in a life when they become less for us to see. I like the ending. A pleasure to read your words.
