Enough already

a rant

Enough already.

 

I am not persuaded by

 appeals to give to charity.

I will explain my reasons why.

There is a lack of clarity.

 

 About where all the money goes

The running costs are way too high

 and very little reaches those

Who suffer most from poverty.

 

Though local politicians gain

 because corruption is wide spread.

It seems to me we must restrain

 the soaring costs of overheads.

 

Ensure donations are well spent

 on what they are intended for.

The system is incompetent

I shan’t be giving any more.

 

Until I am quite satisfied

 that what I give to charity

Will be no longer misapplied

supporting the bureaucracy.

 

Which does not work efficiently.

Allowing cash to be misspent

on paper work apparently.

Though I suspect embezzlement.

 

I cannot prove what I suspect

I have no concrete evidence.

But I’m unwilling to accept

The general lack of competence.

 

I have decided to refuse

 to give to any charity.

 Unless they prove that they will use

 the cash donated properly.

 

Each pound must be accounted for

and not be squandered wastefully.

As they have always done before

 on highly paid bureaucracy.

Yes, well said, of course.
It seems to me that poverty is perpetual and till the root cause is dealt with, ie: birth control, there is not one dam thing anyone can do about it no matter how much money they throw at it.

Sigh, it's not rocket science....surely.

Always interesting to read your work and that you get it all to rhyme, marvelous.
