The road not taken.

 

The road not taken you regret

The opportunity you missed.

You cannot possibly forget.

the chances which you did not get.

 

To see the views you did not see.

Life might have been quite different.

The road you did not take should be

 regarded as past history.

 

You can’t return to yesterday.

Change the decisions that you made.

You must continue on the way

 you chose to take: Come what may.

 

You were not told which road to take.

You exercised your own free will.

You might have made a grave mistake

 and now sometimes you lie awake.

 

To wonder if you got it wrong.

Should you have chosen differently?

Perhaps you are where you belong

 where fate intended all along.

 

The choice you made has proved correct.

Forget the road you did not take.

What can’t be changed you must accept.

 That is one truth you must respect
