I ask your pardon.

I ask your pardon.

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

narrative verse rhyming quatrains

"

I ask your pardon.

Methinks the times are out of joint.

I use my poetry to point

my finger at the things I see

That smack of bigotry to me.

I do not claim to be perfect.

That would be too much to expect.

I some times have a biased view

as every one is prone to do.

I know I can rely on you

to do as you’re entitled to

Point out the errors that I make.

I do not find it hard to take.

The good advice that’s offered me

by other poets helpfully.

I am not rigid in my views

 they’re always open to review.

The words I write are never meant

to cause offence I am content.

If I unwittingly upset

the apple cart; you won’t forget.

I am a poet just like you

I make mistakes I’m bound to do.

Although I do the best I can

 I’m fallible I’m just a man.

I really like this. A good message from a poet to anyone and everyone who decides to venture out and read other people's poetry.
