Past and present.

 

The truth is written in the rocks.

The Fossil Record does not lie.

 Although it’s true it sometimes shocks.

We must accept new rules apply.

The facts we once believed were true

 are proven false by further proof

 that’s been unearthed. Something new

which takes us closer to the truth.

The truth is what we seek to find.

Try to take an unbiased view.

Attempt to keep an open mind

It’s something that we have to do.

There are still answers to be found

 by accident deep underground.

This is great. It reminds me of being in the caves of Spain and seeing the sooty drawings done by prehistoric man. But this write can also be about seeking the definitive answer to creation which is a subject that goes way back, much further back in history altogether. So, a write that inspires both the imagination and the thirst for knowledge.
Great start to my day, thanks for posting and I can always rely on you to come up with something entirely new! lol
