Young hopeful.

 

Overcome by the exuberance

 of his own nonstop verbosity

He demonstrates his eloquence.

Although you doubt his veracity.

A typical politician.

Who canvasses for your vote and support

He hopes to convince you that he can

do everything you think he ought.

Because you understand as well as I.

You can’t believe a single word he said.

You’re certain that all politicians lie.

The only honest ones are long since dead.

Perhaps I hold a biased point of view

 but I remain convinced my words are true.
