The child within can win.

The child within can win.

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

tetrameter sonnet

"

The child within can win.

I was, I am and I will be.

A naughty child still inwardly.

Although I act responsibly.

I’m not the man you think you see.

I’m not afraid to set him free.

So he can act mischievously

and be the boy I’d like to be

and not what you expect of me.

I find as age creeps up on me

I yearn to be completely free

 of all responsibility

To be as once I used to be.

I don’t care what you think of me.

I do not need your sympathy.

This makes me think of my father. He still knows how to be mischievous. Thanks i loved it.

That's exactly how I feel...............a yearning to be free..........get rid of adult duties and just be young again, free........and yes, that little girl is in there somewhere, I love the way you have written this with abandon!
