Vague memories

Vague memories

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

Sad sonnet

"

Vague memories.

My mother died so long ago.

I only have vague memories

So many things I’d like to know.

There is no possibility.

There’s no one left to verify

the small vignettes that I recall

I can’t be sure although I try.

She died when I was very small

My memories may prove to be

a blend of fact and fantasy.

I can’t be sure that they are true

and there is nothing I can do.

I can’t resolve the mystery

 I have outlived my family.

Such sadness when we cannot know our history, I am in the same position, and sometimes its hard........you have written a heart felt piece of beauty and uncertainty......
