Hurry up and wait

Hurry up and wait

A Poem by Poeticpiers

Hurry up and wait.

The back roads are the roads for me.

Where I can wander quietly.

In my own time at my own pace.

Far from the crowds and the rat race

I do not care for motorways.

I have no single word of praise.

For the busy six lane highways

which dominate the world today

For faster speeds from A to B.

They fume and fuss impatiently

If conditions should dictate

they must slow down or even wait.

In queues of traffic nose to tail

Although they curse to no avail.

You cannot move until they do

I’m sure that they are fuming too.

I go to where I want to go

by quiet back roads that I know.

Which are most often traffic free.

The back roads are the roads for me.

i can identify with that my friend, and i think that most poetry is created on back roads.
