Bipolarity?

Bipolarity?

Bipolarity.

My muse goes into overdrive sometimes

She fills my head with metered rhymes

and barely leaves me time to read

Before she is dictating once again
it seems to me she can’t refrain

Non stop dictation at a break neck speed

I think that she is compelled and obsessed

That’s why I am allowed no rest

My needs are of little interest.

I’m sure she’s in a hyper manic phase

and sometime soon she’ll be depressed

She’ll disappear and sulk for days

I’m sure I understand her well

enough to make me sure I can foretell.

When she’s approaching doldrum days

I’m aware she deserves my sympathy.

But she depletes my energies

 I must recharge my batteries

A break to restore my energies

a break she need as much as me.

Until we regain stability.

Then we’ll continue as before

Each passing year I need her more

I’m certain that she inspires me.

To write the kind of poetry

I want to write more easily

Than what I could do on my own.
