I love you but she wants me.

I love you but she wants me.

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

sonnet

"

I love you but she wants me

My wild mistress is calling me

Persistently and ceaselessly

I have no choice I am compelled.

The sea witch has me held bespelled.

I got to know her as a boy

I know the wilesshe can employ

I know too well she can destroy.

As longs as the tides ebb and flow.

When she calls me I have to go.

I love and hate her equally

I can’t pretend I do not know

that she will never set me free.

Ashore I miss her constantly

afloat is where I want to be.

Fancy meeting you here, M'Lord! I'm very happy to read this fine piece written in classical style. Men have been susceptible to the siren call for millenia and there's still no cure available.
