Cancelled Debt for Mlady Poppy

Cancelled Debt for Mlady Poppy

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

sonnet in tetrameter

"

A cancelled debt

Discarded leaves beneath the trees.

No longer dancing in the breeze.

Nor do they rustle as you pass.

The have become an inert mass.

Of rotting vegetation

Their garish colours are long gone

They all turn brown as they decay.

Dame Nature’s law they must obey

When spring arrives the trees will need

rich nutrients on which to feed

and this well rotted leaves supply

That is their purpose when they die

They simply pay back what is due

to the trees on which they grew

How very true and what a wonderful way to describe the cycle of our beautiful nature....all must die and all has purpose in life........you have a great flow throughout and it was a real pleasure to read.
