Fair comment?

 

 

Though things will change they won’t change much.

The Government is out of touch.

Theirs is a world of fantasy

They will not face reality.

 

Although they claim their plans are fair.

It’s obvious they do not care

If the poorest foot the bill.

They always did and always will

 

The chancellor’s too blind to see

  he is increasing poverty

That by revamping benefits

 It is the poorest that he hits.

 

The fat cats still will get away

 with paying less than they should do.

Avoiding and evading tax

Because the rules are much too lax.

 

It’s past time for an overhaul

to ensure the axe will fall

on those who can afford to pay

from money they have stashed away.

 

In bank accounts they don’t declare.

Who guarantee them secrecy.

Which could be almost anywhere

Over seas most probably.

 

The systems patently unfair

The rich won’t pay what they should do.

But the Tories do not care

Though they’re aware that it is true.

 

You may conclude I’m cynical

or that I have an axe to grind

Although I’m apolitical

I try to keep an open mind.

 

I am entitled to my view .

Though you are free to disagree.

If my words apply to you

I offer no apology.

 

 I just report what I observe.

In words that I believe are true

It is the truth I wish to serve.

Which politicians seldom do.
