Murphys Law

Murphy’s Law.

Another dull gray rainy day.

Which made me think it wise to stay

at home where I am warm and dry.

It shows that autumn’s making way

 for winters coming lengthy stay.

I can’t stay where it’s warm and dry.

Reluctantly I must go out

get things we can’t do without.

My mackintosh will keep me dry.

My lady has more sense than me.

She delegates authority

and sends me out to buy.

Whatever’s on her shopping list

I know the rules I don’t resist

While she stays where it’s warm and dry.

Although I do not like the rain.

I know I’ll soon be home again

.Where it is always warm and dry.

Because my lady’s delicate

I am content that she should wait

for my return. Safe warm and dry.

When I get back my duty done.

The rain has fled before the sun.

I should have waited shouldn’t I?
