Blood donation

May I enlist your sympathy?

For vampires who are very old.

 Alas there is no dentistry.

maintaining fangs for such as we.

My fangs are just a memory

which I remember from my youth.

Things are not what they used to be.

I’m toothless now as you can see.

Although I can eat simple food

 it lacks the vital nourishment.

A vampire’s proper food is blood

that’s iron rich it does them good.

In youth I relied on my charms

my honeyed words to make you feel

safe and protected in my arms.

Transform your fears to quiet calm.

I can no longer dominate

 by power of personality.

Sadly now I’m forced to wait

 and hope that you’ll participate.

You are so young and full of fire

the sweet blood rushing through your veins.

You could fulfil my hearts desire.

But will you, now I must enquire.

Will you bare your neck for me?

and spare me just a little drop

I don’t need a great quantity.

 An elegant sufficiency.

I have my silver drinking straw

and a sharp knife to pierce the vein.

A tiny sip I don’t need more

which will my failing health restore.

A small incision, which will heal.

A few C.C.s  that you can spare.

So tell me do we have a deal

What do you mean “ Am I for real?.

I do not seek to frighten you

 I make my request politely”

Because I think that you may do

just as I ask: One of the few

who show some signs of empathy.

Defender of the underdogs.

Motivated by sympathy

you’ll spare a little blood for me.

I can get plenty bottled blood

as I work for the N.H.S.

It is O.K but not so good

as fresh blood and its understood.

It’s only what would go to waste.

It is long past its best by date.

although it has a bitter taste

I must accept with good grace.

How very sad it is to be

  a toothless vampire without fangs.

 Have to rely on charity

but that is how it has to be.

The gift of immortality

the desire of many mortal men

is not as it purports to be.

I’m forced to beg eternally

I’m past my prime, I can’t command,

 I can’t coerce or hypnotise.

I only pray you’ll understand

 I beg because I can’t demand.

It is your choice you can refuse

and there is nothing I can do.

I have no powers I can use

except persuasion, nothing new.

My friend, take all that you require;
Or fill thy cup beyond desire;
But be advised, within each cell,
Such poisons there are known to dwell;
And while such quenching is so quick to come---
Such pale replacement for rays of sun:
While reviving inspired need,
You may be hast'ning aging speed.
A viper's venom thrives within',
While toxic to a foreign skin.
Yet, you and I, may share such wine,
I'll drink of you---you'll drink of mine;
And both shall rise as host, un-feared,
Aged, toothless...yet revered.

Everyone needs help sometime and their is nothing wrong with asking for it... for it does not make you weak but shows signs of internal strength. Some very witty analogies.

Now this was exceptional my friend! I loved how you made the vampire come forth with a life, per say, his plight as it seems is growing old, something we never thought of with vampires.. Well done and thought of subject. Especially when all are doing stories on the young at heart-throbs thief in the night type..
