Four Septilla

Decorum

She hides her face behind her fan.

As every well bred lady should.

She’s just pretending to be good.

She has already picked her man.

But her duennas fearsome eye

is guaranteed to terrify

Any young man and she can.

 Scar tissue.

The scars I bear cannot be seen

They still remain although unseen.

You broke my heart deliberately

To you I was only a toy.

You were aware you would destroy.

The heart I gave you foolishly.

Sneak attack

I envied other peoples wealth

 and undervalued my good health.

Striving always for success.

Until the day I realised

Good health may go unrecognised

until it’s overcome by stealth.

More or less

We cannot conquer poverty

For poverty is relative

We aren’t all gifted equally

Some may try and achieve success

But others value money less

They don’t depend on property

in their efforts to impress.
