Persistent nuisance,

Persistent nuisance,

A Poem by Poeticpiers
"

sonnet in tetrameter inspired by a journey to a far distant hospital on a foggy day.

"

Persistent Nuisance.

The morning mist lingers til noon

and shows no sign of lifting soon.

The air is still, no wind today

to drive the wretched mist away.

The sky a dull gunmetal grey.

We will not see the sun today.

The mist remains all afternoon

As though it’s waiting for the moon.

Tomorrow may bring good fortune.

Then I shall sing a different tune.

To the sad one I sing today

Inspired by a sunny day.

Which will not let the mist persist.

I am quite sure it won’t be missed..

I suppose it goes with the territory. Superbly rendered piece once again.

"The sun will come out, tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun." Ha, I couldn't resist. This is a great hope for sunnier days. I do hope you are right, they say it may snow here again tonight.

Great Write!

Tommy

Very well penned as always, sounds like the way weather was when my dear mother passed at hospice... but they had a lit fireplace and a labordor retriever, which was quite comforting... Thank you for sharing... Debileah
