Maintaining the Balance

Maintaining the Balance

Maintaining the balance.

Natures laws may seem unfair

Natures may seem unjust

But mankind should be well aware

That Mother Nature will adjust.

The numbers to the food supply.

Too many mouths too little food.

Ensure the old and weak will die.

Mans interference does no good.

Although perhaps we can delay

its obvious we can’t prevent.

Dame Nature going her own way.

She has no time for sentiment.

She will enforce her ancient laws.

As she has done since time began.

With neither pity nor remorse.

She has to do the best she can.

She will preserve a few to breed.

Ensure the species will survive.

A number that the land can feed

sufficiently to stay alive.

Though we may try we can’t succeed.

 Perhaps its time to recognise.

When populations overbreed

They must outstrip the food supplies.

Birth control must be the goal.

On which to spend our energy.

Our charity is on the whole

Hard cash expended uselessly.

Perhaps there is a better way

than Mother Nature can provide.

It makes me sad but I must say

 It’s self inflicted genocide..

Education is the key

Which leads to smaller families.

It seems quite obvious to me.

That should  prevent such tragedies…
