Adequate punishment?A Poem by Poeticpiersstory poemAdequate Punishment? The second Mrs Tanqueray Had many debts she could not pay That’s why she thought to do away with her old man John Tanqueray She knew that he was well insured. A rosy future was assured Once she is rid of her old man. She is quite certain that she can. Arrange a fatal accident which leaves her looking innocent Her mind’s made up he has to go. She is quite sure no one will know. Her wicked scheme has proved correct there is no reason to suspect His death was not an accident. The second Mrs Tanqueray from looking forward to the day. When she inherits his estate But it was not to be; for fate. Stepped in to rob her of her prize. A will was found to her surprise despite the success of her schemes. His will a binding document Impossible to circumvent. Left everything to charities The only beneficiaries. He left his wife not one red cent and that will be her punishment. Poetic justice one might say Caught up with Mrs Tanqueray. The time has to end my tail. Though justice sometimes seems to fail. I am quite sure you will agree justice prevails eventually.
